Sutra CRM
Pricing

Free, self-hosted, forever.

Sutra CRM is open-source under GPL v3. You install it on your own server, keep all your data, and pay nothing for the software. Paid support tiers are planned after v1.0 GA — never at the cost of free use.

Planned for post-v1.0

Paid support

TBD per year

For teams who want a guaranteed response time and a direct line to the maintainers.

  • Guaranteed response on bug reports
  • Priority on feature requests
  • Upgrade assistance + migration help
  • Custom development at an hourly rate
  • Optional managed hosting (if we ever ship it)

Paid support is a planned direction; nothing is purchasable today. Use the contact form to register interest — we use those signals to decide what to build first.

Why open-source?

Your data, your server

Self-hosted means there’s no vendor lock-in, no surprise migration when a proprietary vendor changes their pricing, and no third-party that can see your customer list.

Truly customisable

Open-source isn’t a marketing label here. The Plugin SDK is a first-class concept; the bundled CRM is just the first plugin. Fork it, ship plugins for your industry, sell them.

Audit-friendly by default

Append-only audit log, field-level diff history, non-destructive restore. Foundation for 21 CFR Part 11 already shipped. Your compliance team can read the source.

0 telemetry

We don’t track your installation, your users, or your records. No phone-home. The only signals we get are what the community shares on the forum.

Common questions

Will it always be free?
The GPL v3 kernel and bundled CRM module will always be free. We may sell first-party plugins or paid support in the future; the core never closes up.
Can I use it commercially?
Yes. GPL v3 doesn’t forbid commercial use. The only obligation: if you modify Sutra and distribute the modified version, your changes need to be available under GPL v3 too.
Where’s the source code?
Source is currently private during the v1.0 beta — we’re iterating fast and don’t want to ship broken state publicly. Public repo opens at v1.0 GA. Drop your email on the download page for the beta build.
What about hosted / SaaS?
No hosted offering today. If we ever ship one, it will be optional and self-hosted will remain the headline path. The point of open-source is choice.
How do you make money, then?
Honestly: right now we don’t. Sutra is funded by its maintainers’ time. Paid support, plugin marketplace revenue share, and optional managed hosting are the long-horizon plans — each kicks in only after the free tier is healthy.
