Sutra CRM
Pricing

Free at the core.
Pay only for what scales you.

Sutra is built for growing teams who want to own their data, not rent it. The full CRM is free and open-source under GPL v3 — self-hosted, unlimited users, no time limit. Business adds the things teams above ~200 seats actually pay for: SSO, compliance, advanced workflows, and premium support.

What "Early Access" means, plainly

Business features — SSO, the compliance plugin, advanced workflows — are on the roadmap, not in the product today. You can reserve a Business licence now and your launch pricing is locked in for life as each feature ships. Until then, you run Community (which is the full CRM) and get a named contact for support. We do this because growing-team evaluations need to know what they will be able to commit to a year from now — not just what is in the box today.

Why open-core?

Your data, your server

Self-hosted at every tier. No vendor lock-in, no surprise price hike from a SaaS rebrand, no third party that can see your customer list. The Business edition is also self-hosted — it adds features, not custody.

No per-seat punishment

Mid-market teams hit the per-seat ceiling on most SaaS CRMs around 100 users. Community has zero seat limits; Business early-access pricing is locked in for life so growth does not blow up the bill.

Audit-friendly by default

Append-only audit log, field-level diff history, non-destructive restore — in Community. The Business compliance plugin layers electronic signatures, record lockdown, and 21 CFR Part 11 validation on top.

Truly customisable

The Plugin SDK is a first-class concept; the bundled CRM is just the first plugin. Fork it, ship plugins for your industry, sell them. Open-core means the core stays open — commercial features extend, they never close it up.

Common questions

Will Community always be free?
Yes. The GPL v3 core and bundled CRM stay free forever, with no user count limits and no time limit. Business adds features on top — it never closes the core up.
Why "Early Access" on Business if the features are not ready?
Mid-market evaluations look ahead a year, not just at today’s box. Reserving Business early lets you lock in launch pricing for life, get a named support contact now, and influence which Business features ship first. You run Community until each Business feature lands — nothing in the core is held back.
Can I use Community commercially?
Yes. GPL v3 doesn’t forbid commercial use. The only obligation: if you modify Sutra and distribute the modified version, your changes need to be available under GPL v3 too.
What about hosted / SaaS?
No hosted offering today. Both editions are self-hosted. If we ever ship managed hosting, it will be an option on top — self-hosted remains the headline path.
Where’s the source code?
Source is currently private during the v1.0 beta — we’re iterating fast and don’t want to ship broken state publicly. Public repo opens at v1.0 GA. Drop your email on the download page for the beta build.
How do I switch from Community to Business?
You don’t reinstall. Business is the same install with a licence key that activates the Business-only features as they ship. No data migration, no downtime.
What if my needs are too small for Business?
Community is genuinely the full CRM — not a crippled trial. Unlimited users, no feature gates in the core. Teams of any size run on Community alone. Business is for teams that have specifically hit SSO / compliance / SLA gates.
